Yankees had knocked in eight playoff games
Alex Rodriguez's postseason RBI streak ended in the Yankees' Game 5 with Angels on Thursday. But dating back to 2007, Rodriguez (in yankees jersey) had knocked in a run in eight consecutive postseason games, which puts him in the Major League record with Lou Gehrig and Ryan Howard. He popped out in the first inning, and was called out on strikes in the fourth, doubled in the sixth, and was walked in the seventh and ninth innings on purpose. It was the second time Rodriguez had been walked under those circumstances in the series. In Game 3, Angels captain Mike Scioscia (in angels jersey) ordered up an intentional pass of Rodriguez with no one on base in the ninth inning.
In the 2003 NLDS, the Marlins gave a free pass to Barry Bonds in the ninth inning of Game 3 and escaped the inning without a run.
